Description

MikroTik mANTBox ax 15s WiFi 6 Sector Access Point

The MikroTik mANTBox ax 15s is an outdoor WiFi 6 sector access point designed for wireless networks, WISP deployments, point-to-multipoint connectivity and professional outdoor networking. It combines a wireless router with an integrated sector antenna, providing a practical solution for network operators and installers that need directional wireless coverage from a single outdoor device.

The mANTBox ax 15s uses dual-band WiFi 6 technology, supporting both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity. The 2.4 GHz radio supports up to 574 Mbit/s, while the 5 GHz radio supports up to 2400 Mbit/s under the manufacturer’s specifications. The 5 GHz interface uses a 15 dBi integrated antenna, making the device suitable for sector-based outdoor wireless deployments.

The integrated sector antenna has a 15 dBi gain on the 5 GHz band, providing directional coverage for wireless clients within the intended sector. This makes the MikroTik mANTBox ax 15s suitable for wireless internet service providers, rural broadband projects, campus networks, commercial properties and other outdoor installations where controlled wireless coverage is required.

The device supports 2×2 MIMO wireless operation on both bands. The 2.4 GHz radio supports 802.11b/g/n/ax, while the 5 GHz radio supports 802.11a/n/ac/ax. WiFi 6 technology provides compatibility with modern wireless clients while maintaining support for earlier wireless standards.

For network connectivity, the mANTBox ax 15s includes one Gigabit Ethernet port and one SFP port. The SFP interface supports 2.5G modules, giving network installers an option for fiber-based connectivity where longer-distance or electrically isolated backhaul is required. This combination makes the device suitable for both Ethernet and fiber-connected wireless network deployments.

The MikroTik mANTBox ax 15s runs RouterOS with a Level 4 license. RouterOS provides professional networking features for routing, wireless configuration, traffic management, security, VLANs, monitoring and other network administration requirements. This makes the device suitable for experienced network administrators, ISPs, WISPs and professional system integrators.

The device is designed for outdoor installation and has an IP55 rating. It supports operating temperatures from -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for demanding outdoor environments when correctly installed and configured. MikroTik documentation recommends professional installation and proper grounding for outdoor radio equipment.

Power can be supplied through passive PoE or the DC input. The device supports 12-28 V DC through the DC jack and 18-28 V through passive PoE input. This provides flexibility when integrating the access point into different outdoor network installations.

The mANTBox ax 15s can be deployed in wireless internet service provider networks where a sector access point is required to serve multiple customer premises. It can also be used for outdoor broadband coverage, campus connectivity, rural connectivity projects and other point-to-multipoint wireless applications.

For WISP operators, the integrated sector antenna and RouterOS platform provide a combination of wireless coverage and network management capabilities in one outdoor unit. Proper sector planning, frequency selection, antenna positioning and client alignment remain important for achieving reliable wireless performance.

The MikroTik mANTBox ax 15s is also suitable for network professionals who need a compact outdoor wireless platform with both Ethernet and fiber connectivity. Its integrated design can simplify installations by combining the wireless radio, router functionality and sector antenna into one device.
