Description
MikroTik ATL LTE18 Kit (ATLGM&EG18-EA) – Outdoor LTE Category 18 Router
The MikroTik ATL LTE18 kit (ATLGM&EG18-EA) is an outdoor cellular networking solution designed to provide internet connectivity over compatible 4G LTE mobile networks. It is suitable for homes, businesses, remote sites and network installations where mobile broadband is an alternative to fixed-line internet. Its outdoor enclosure and integrated cellular antenna system allow it to be installed in a suitable elevated position to improve reception from a compatible mobile network.
Globikom supplies MikroTik networking equipment in Kenya and across Africa. The ATL LTE18 kit is designed for customers who need an outdoor LTE connection, network management capabilities and a Gigabit Ethernet connection to their internal network.
LTE Category 18 Cellular Connectivity
The ATL LTE18 kit uses an LTE Category 18 modem, with a theoretical maximum download rate of up to 1.2Gbps and upload rate of up to 150Mbps under supported network conditions. These are modem category figures, not guaranteed internet speeds. Actual performance depends on mobile operator coverage, signal quality, network congestion, supported frequency bands, SIM plan and local network conditions.
The device supports multiple LTE bands, making it important to check compatibility with the mobile operator and the frequency bands available at the installation location before ordering. A compatible active SIM card and suitable mobile broadband service are required for cellular internet access.
Outdoor Installation
Designed for outdoor pole mounting, the ATL LTE18 kit can be installed where it can receive a suitable mobile signal. Its enclosure is designed for outdoor use, with an IP54 protection rating. Correct mounting, cable routing, grounding and installation practices are important for dependable operation.
For best results, choose a mounting position with suitable cellular coverage and follow the manufacturer’s installation guidance. The device should be installed with the Ethernet connection and cable openings oriented as instructed. Use appropriate outdoor-rated Ethernet cabling and suitable grounding and surge protection where required.
Gigabit Ethernet and Network Integration
The ATL LTE18 kit includes one Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting the device to a compatible router, switch or wired network. This allows a cellular internet connection to be integrated into a home, office, small business or remote-site network.
The Ethernet port provides a wired network interface; it does not mean the LTE connection will always reach Gigabit speeds. Mobile broadband throughput depends on the operator network and local radio conditions.
RouterOS Management
The device runs MikroTik RouterOS with a Level 3 licence. RouterOS provides network configuration and management tools for supported functions. Administrators can configure the device and integrate it into an appropriate network design using MikroTik management tools.
The exact configuration should reflect the deployment requirements, mobile operator settings and current RouterOS version. Always update and secure the device according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Power over Ethernet
The ATL LTE18 kit accepts power through its Ethernet connection using a supported PoE-in power source. The documented input range is 12–57V DC, and maximum power consumption is approximately 8W. The kit documentation lists a 24V, 0.8A power adapter and a Gigabit PoE injector among the included accessories. Confirm package contents with Globikom before purchase.
Typical Applications
The MikroTik ATL LTE18 kit can be used for:
- Outdoor 4G LTE internet connectivity for homes and offices.
- Internet access at remote sites without a fixed broadband connection.
- Cellular connectivity for business premises and temporary installations.
- Connecting a mobile broadband service to an Ethernet network.
- Selected backup internet deployments where supported by the network design.
